Strobe ridden by Adam Nicol & Karingo ridden by Adrian Lane both contested the opener. the Strongbow Dark Fruit Handicap Chase, a Class 5 race over 20f with 15 fences on ground riding Good to Firm. There were 8 runners. Karingo made a mistake at the first and fell at the third. His confidence in jumping fences appears to have deserted him and a return to hurdles would be a probable choice. Strobe was taken on for the lead and was obstructed at some of the fences. He appeared to sulk and despite the urging of Adam, he started to drop through the field and was pulled up before the […]

It was nice to welcome a good number of visitors to the Open Day, which was held to support two charities, The Injured Jockeys Fund and The British Horse Society, Scotland. Unusually for this Summer the weather played its part in providing a pleasant warm rain-free day. In addition to being able to view the horses in their respective boxes, visitors also watched a parade of a number of the horses accompanied by a commentary of their achievements. It is understood that the Charities benefited to the sum of almost £2000. Your support for the Charities, which do such valuable work in the Equine world is much appreciated
Royal Duchess made the long journey from Duncrievie to Thirsk to contest the Class 4 ROA/Racing Post Owners’ Jackpot Handicap over 7f in which there were 9 runners on a track riding Good to Soft. She was ridden by her normal partnerSammy Jo Bell. From the start they were content to settle to the rear of the group and remained there until between the 3f/2f mark, they took much closer order. Duchess was asked to make her challenge around the 1f mark and despite meeting traffic to the line managed to reach third place. Another strong competitive race for a determined horse, who this season has a sequence, which reads […]
