Hexham Races

Silverton ridden by Adrian Lane was back over fences – unfortunately she made an uncharacteristic error at the third fence and was lucky to stay on her feet, and keep her jockey on board, and while she did get back into the race briefly, Adrian felt that she wasn’t moving correctly and rightly pulled her up.  The vets checked her over and at the moment it just looks to be a pulled muscle in her back, she was rather uncomfortable when she got home, plenty of tlc for her. Rinnagree Rosie ridden by Grant Cockburn just never quite seemed to be able to get involved in the race, the early […]

Kelso Races

Cruachan ran over two and a half miles and was ridden by Adam Nicol.  He didn’t run his normal race and whether it was the rather holding ground that he didn’t enjoy or he was just not in the mood – I’m not sure, although saying that he wasn’t beaten too far!!

Musselburgh Races

Cadore, ridden by Grant Cockburn was running in the three mile handicap hurdle.  This was his first run over the long trip and Grant gave him a lovely ride and he finished in a very good fourth place, proving he stays this trip – this opens up more opportunities for him in the future. We were then able to give a couple of horses a nice racecourse gallop, Karingo and Son of Feyan – who benefited nicely from this and should be on the racecourse soon.  Unfortunately the horsebox had a blow out on the way home and had to wait four hours […]

Newcastle Races

At last we have runners again, three at Newcastle and it was great to be back on the track after two months of horses being under the weather.  Rinnagree Rosie and her sister Silverton were both running in the two and a half mile handicap hurdle.  Silverton, who won the best turned out award was ridden by Megan Carbery jumped and travelled really well up with the leaders until turning for home when lack of race fitness began to show but she kept on to finish in fourth place – she will be back over fences again next time out. Rinnagree Rosie ridden by Grant Cockburn as always jumped really […]
